No matter what, no matter where NOMAD gets there

NOMAD

NOMAD, which stands for Navigation and Operations Management for Autonomous Delivery, leverages Westwood's RONIN technology, enabling our drones to function in areas where GPS is unavailable. After mapping the terrain with cutting-edge LiDAR scanning, the drone identifies one of several discrete radio frequency beacons to pinpoint its final destination. These beacons be activated just before landing avoid detection by enemy interceptors.

4-Phase Approach

NOMAD (Navigation and Operations Management for Autonomous Delivery) builds on Westwood’s R.O.N.I.N. technology to enable drone operations in environments where GPS is denied or unreliable.

NOMAD's Contribution to Modern Warfare

NOMAD is a collaborative solution developed by Westwood AI and the University of Michigan, addressing the risks associated with missions as straightforward as troop drops. Delivering essential items like food, clean water, ammunition, and medical supplies poses significant dangers for both suppliers recipients. The Army Environmental Policy Institute reported an estimated death for every twenty-four resupply convoys in Afghanistan. NOMAD not only reduces the risk of loss of life but also improves efficiency by minimizing the supplies needed for delivery missions and freeing soldiers to focus on important tasks instead of spending days transporting goods.
